Sheepish

It's currently quite late (alright, it's technically morning), the temps have dipped just into the 40s, and I'm on the daybed under a beautiful hand-knitted blanket we scored at a yard sale this weekend. My wussy California side is showing, y'all. At least I have the comfort of knowing we're back into an extended summer for the rest of the week - low 80s and glorious, hurrah!

And a lovely wedding anniversary weekend as far as the eye can see. It'll be our fourth, can you believe it? There is so much to celebrate!

First some gratuitous tomboy photos:

Left: On a riverside trail with Bird / Right: Sipping a little bit of home - Sightglass coffee from a Curiosity Shoppe for Target mug.

I know we're all getting giddy and impatient for the leaves to start turning, our chunky knits to be weather appropriate for apple picking, and to breathe in the hallmark scents of the season - pumpkin all-the-things, roaring fires, the fragrances you only wear this time of year. This is just a quickie post to share some things I'm excited about for Autumn and Fall!

Top row: While I have two black pairs of riding boots, these cognac lace-ups from Juicy Couture (normally I wouldn't be caught dead in JC, but this is an exception) will help fill up a hole in my wardrobe. The blushing pearl Peter Pan collar from JewelMint will do in a pinch when my Eleven Objects lace collar is a little too sultry and I need something sweet instead. I'm basically married to this Fresh Sugar Rosé lip balm - it's the only one in the entire range that I reach for constantly, and it's just the most easy, flattering hint of pink. This tube should last me all winter! I fell in love with this Madewell sweater when I saw it on the rack, and I can't wait to wear it with tall boots and pencil skirts, or my high-waisted bell bottoms. Twee? Yes, a bit, but I could care less and the tomboy loves it when I wear stuff like it.

Look who came out of the blanket long enough to say hello! Well, first to yawn.

Bottom row: A perfect navy tea dress by Orla Kiely that is easily warmed up with tights and a sweater. A knockout pencil skirt with an almost Impressionist brocade from J. Crew that'll work night or day for nearly any occasion. The new Stars album is excellent for dancing or cuddling, I highly recommend it! Can't wait to see them play here  next week! Much like the Fresh lip balm above, Benefit's PosieTint gives a soft kiss of brightening, glowy pink for cheeks. Last but not least, this Kirna Zabete for Target dress caught my eye so I tried it on. The styling on the website is atrocious, but the fit was great and the faux leather detail and heavy tweed worked well together.

Coming so so so soon: Chicago!
