Confession: I just came back from the Amoeba Factory Party in Emeryville. It was so, so crowded, so we didn't stay long, but there was some really great art and folks were all dressed up and it was fun. My favorite was the seizure-inducing volatile nature room, located in a tiny little cove in the warehouse draped with moss and carpeted with bark, with white screens projected upon with angry, spastic images of Mother Nature. It was strewn with individuals and a couple making out, wide-eyed zombies staring up and around in awe. There was a full-size, blow-up Trans Am, lots and lots of great paintings and art being made right then and there, and a few sculptures I wanted to scoop up (evil soldier rocking horse, tiny bones).
